about.
In this project we worked with Vetropia, an animal nutritionist practice. Alba, the owner and founder, needed to improve the user experience of her website, make it much more attractive, and align it with the brand values.
The challenge was to redesign an existing website that lacked user engagement and didn't effectively communicate the expertise and trustworthiness expected from a professional animal nutrition service. The original site failed to convert visitors into clients and didn't reflect the personalized, expert care that Vetropia provides to pets and their owners.
research process.
To understand the real needs of this website's users, we began by researching the motivations that drive pet owners to hire Vetropia's services. What type of food do they give their pets, where do they access valuable information about nutrition and make purchases, and what are their decision-making factors - these were among the questions we explored.
First, we conducted a survey with over 130 responses, which provided very valuable insights. To understand the reasons behind the percentages obtained in the survey, we conducted 8 personal interviews. The results of both analyses, qualitative and quantitative, revealed key findings:
user persona.
The best way to understand the data obtained is by creating user personas that could be consumers of the product. We identified that the target audience was mainly composed of couples, so our user personas are as follows:
We put ourselves in the situation of this couple at the moment they adopted their cat, Lúa, and considered what type of nutrition to offer her. The user journey revealed critical touchpoints where professional guidance could make the difference between a frustrated search and a confident decision.
design process.
After obtaining all the necessary information to create a product based on user needs, we began designing. First, we created low-fidelity prototypes and iterated them to make a medium-fidelity version. We focused on information architecture and basic user flows, ensuring that the most important actions were prominently featured and easily accessible.
For the mid fidelity wireframes, we refined the layout, tested navigation patterns, and ensured that the content hierarchy supported user goals effectively. Below are some of the screens in mid fidelity.
Before beginning the final design, and using the brand's brandbook as a foundation, we defined our style guide through this collaboratively created moodboard.
Finally, we designed the essential pages for the previously defined user flows, X screens in total. The prototype link can be found at the beginning of this page. We created versions for both mobile and desktop, ensuring responsive design principles throughout.
A total of 6 pages with their respective micro interactions and overlays (such as calendars or shopping carts). To see the final prototype, click on the link at the top of this page.
